Zach completed his education at Florida State University (FSU) with a concentration in graphic design and business marketing, following an early college start at Creighton University. Most of his professional career was spent in California, where he initially worked in the aerospace and automotive industries as an industrial designer and fabricator. His early projects included machining parts for the Hubble Telescope mission, fabricating interiors for a military mobile command center, developing the first touch infrared-enabled topographic mapping system, and designing scale model pieces for the NSA building.

After two years in fabrication, Zach transitioned to interface design, beginning with a project to redesign the instrument cluster, heads-up display, and center console touch screens for GM Luxury vehicles. This two-year project launched his career in interface design, making him a pioneer in the field before the iPhone era.

With the advent of the iPhone and the rise of applications, Zach found the perfect blend of logic, technical skills, creativity, and usability. His background in military and space design, which emphasized simple interactions and visual cues, heavily influenced his design principles. Today, he applies minimalism and Atomic design to craft innovative solutions, using a scientific approach to problem-solving and intellectual property development.

Over the past twenty years, Zach has worked on hundreds of projects, both full-time and as a consultant. He is known for quickly identifying and addressing the root of issues, driving productive results. An idea generator and innovator, Zach is a savant in anything with a screen.

In daily life, he constantly analyzes and improves interfaces, whether on airplane touchpads, smartphones, microwaves, or his Tesla. His passion for usability and user interface (UI) design drives him to continually learn and challenge existing systems. He leads and builds teams that immerse themselves in interfaces, striving to understand and enhance the user experience. Dedicated to his craft, Zach is committed to educating others and continuously honing his skills in the field.

In the past five years, Zach has concentrated on new innovations in interface design, particularly in areas such as AI, Blockchain, Web3, fintech advancements, VR, and gaming. He is excited about how these concentrations can be interwoven into current brands and improved, believing that his strengths in these areas will propel him into the next era of UI design while integrating new ideas into Web2 experiences.
