Crispin Porter + Bogusky
Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) was a leading advertising agency celebrated for its innovative and unconventional advertising methods.
In 2017, I was brought in as a consultant for a high-priority project to design the initial UX for the Ryder trucking app. My task was to quickly develop an end-to-end mobile flow for locating and reserving rental trucks.

For Ryder, a rental trucking service, a map interface was chosen to simplify the search for nearby rentals and reduce the need for extensive text instructions. By making location-based services clickable on the map, customers can quickly find rental spots. Adding a few simple buttons for local store links and integrating device-based account information results in a user-friendly UI for easy reservations.
When working under tight deadlines, mapping out user access and actions in flow diagrams is crucial for minimizing guesswork on edge cases, error screens, and unique scenarios. By defining a user flow, you can create core pages that are reusable across different users, streamlining development and saving time through a consistent component system.
I was responsible for developing the early UX concepts, with a focus on organizing the existing flow, reducing unnecessary clicks, and introducing a map-based discovery model to replace traditional search input. This shift significantly improved the experience by making location-based exploration more intuitive. My role was to define the structural logic and interaction flows, which were then handed off to a UI vendor for high-fidelity design execution.
Outcome: The outcome was a fully articulated UX foundation that enabled seamless visual refinement and implementation.
